It had been a difficult winter in Paris. The Charlie Hebdo terrorist murders were still fresh. We had marched to Place de la Republique with millions of Parisians, all determined to be “Not Afraid”. With a wedding in Thailand to attend, my daughter Alexis as my +1, I booked tickets from Bangkok to Rangoon following the wedding and we jumped in to full imersion with both feet.
